A Kirby Super Star remix
"Kirby Super Star" was one of the better-known Kirby games, and represents the introduction of the Copy ability the pink blob is now famous for. But is it worth $30 to have it on the DS? For Kirby fans, yes; and for people who enjoy platformers but are bad at them, also yes. Other gamers should think twice, as the game is far too easy to appeal to the general market.
I have played through all of the main games in Kirby Super Star Ultra- that is, everything that is not a variation of the Arena- in under four hours of play. The game that seemed difficult to me when I was in elementary school is trivial now, and I never came anywhere close to a Game Over. It's the same Kirby action it always was, of course, but the low difficulty is a bit of a disappointment- even though I should know that's how Kirby games are.
The game has control issues, especially for those who got their start to the series on the original Game Boy game. "Up" no longer causes Kirby to fly, only the "A" button does so- and while "A" to jump and "B" to attack is standard on Game Boy/Game Boy Advance games, this is a Nintendo DS game, and therefore has an SNES pad layout- where I expect "B" to jump, and the "A" to jump simply throws me off. The controls are, unfortunately, not reconfigurable. They're workable, but they're just nonstandard enough to throw someone off without being wild enough to avoid interfering with knowledge of how to control other games.
The game is fun, but the quantity of play you get is deeply questionable for the price. Wait for a price drop (beyond the $5 it's already lost; perhaps $20, at most) and then, if you want an easy but enjoyable platformer, go for it.
Grandson Loves It!
My Grandson loves this game! The game was not due to arrive, until the day after Christmas, but it arrived on Christmas Eve. Thanks
Badly worse and terrible and complicated
All of these freakin' problems is just all because of Nintendo makes it worse and complicated.
On this file game called "The True Arena"(which obviusly otherwise should be called "The Deadly Arena")I was so close, very, very close to the end (I was fighting boss #4-4, the very last one) that I would be done if it wasn't for that ridiculous Nintendo and Intec!
