Customer Reviews

It does the job the ad promised.Kingston DataTraveler 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DT100/16GB - Harry Potter 6 Books
I am quite satisfied with it.
The main problem I had at first was that the multilingual instructions ripped when I tore open the package, but the lost versions were not any that I needed; I would suggest folding them instead of having them take up the entire package.
As for the functionality of the unit, it does seem a little slow at times (I transferred 5.6GB of files to it, and it took a while, but putting them on a diferent flash drive from that one was even slower), but overall, it performs adequately for my needs.
As for the lack of a transfer LED, I don't really miss that. I am watching the files transfer with a monitor window so don't need a light. And those lights take USB power and will degrade the performance of an unpowered hub.
Maybe when they get cheaper, I'll buy a 32!
I think everyone ought to try these and experience their excellent storage capacity (and that they apparently stand up to being washed :) ).

PRETTY GOOD, SO FARKingston DataTraveler 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DT100/16GB - Harry Potter 6 Books
This product is pretty good so far. It has a lot of memory and for the price, you can't go wrong. I saw a Kingston 2 GB for about $20 in some store, and this one is 16 GB for this price. You can't go wrong. The best part is that I don't need a cap or anything, just slide the button. Definitly recommend this product.

16 GB DataTraveler is good, but....Kingston DataTraveler 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DT100/16GB - Harry Potter 6 Books
The 16 GB version of the Kingston DataTraveler is fine, but with one caveat. That is, it is much faster if the file system is converted to NTFS. All of the USB thumb drives (and most external hard drives I have found) come formatted with FAT32. I know that this is for compatibility with older versions of Windows (and MACs?), but if you are using a Windows system with at least Win XP on it, the drive is much faster if its file system is converted to NTFS. Other than this issue, the drive seems to work fine and is very fast now that it is using NTFS.
